Roberto Silva: Exactly. I usually decline game invitations I get that are one game matches and not random colour; often I'll send a message with the decline, explaining that if they want to reinvite with random, I'll play. And I do that regardless of what colour they're offering. Of course if it's a game like Dice Poker or Logik, it doesn't matter.

Also, there's a bug with elimination tournaments where the players are in order of rating, and the top player always gets white - I get white a ridiculous amount in Mancala, which is a huge advantage. I keep meaning to message Fencer about it, but I can't imagine I'm the first to notice and tell him.

furbster: Look at the player list and see who is on there currently and still here....ask one of them.....

I have just checked the above and I am on page 20 and of those 20 pages there are only about a dozen that are currently playing on this site and that is absolutely unbelievable....My god...some of the stories that could be told.

Subject: Re: More and more games time out
AlliumCepa: I am under the impression that the “available for paying members only” message is out of date, I have seen automatic vacation working for brain pawns that I’ve played against. To be clear, when I posted my earlier message, your profile just showed “10 days”, it did not show “using the automatic vacation”. So checking that box has certainly altered what is displayed on your profile, and based on my observations of it working for other brain pawns I expect it to also work for you if it becomes necessary despite the claim on the settings page that it is “available for paying members only”.

Subject: Re: More and more games time out
MTC: since I verified my setting Before and After this posting, let me clarify. My profile page insicates "10 days - using the automatic vacation". However, the link you kindly provided, leads to a page that states "available for paying members only". So even ticking that checkbox is irrelevant as it does not apply.
The fact is, BrainKing displayed misleading information, suggesting Automatic Vacation is enforced, while in reality - it is not.
So I repeat my initial appeal: Fencer, please set my scores straight if you care for proper programming.

MTC: thank you for pointing this out to me, MTC. If I recall corectly, Fencer published somewhere that Auto Vacation is being switched on by default for everyone. Perhaps not.
Oh well.

Subject: Re: More and more games time out
AlliumCepa: Your profile indicates that you don’t have automatic vacation turned on, so it won’t automatically use your vacation days to prevent you timing out. You can turn it on at this settings page.

Hello Fencer. Many of my games (8002929, 946993, 8003349, 8003405, 8008220 and 8006693) with standard vacation were lost due to timeout. I have 10 more vacation days left. How come?

Good news:
You earned a new achievement - My three sixes
Roll 2 sixes 3 times in a row in a single game of backgammon or its variants.

Bad news:
It was Anti Backgammon

Good news:
Was on the bar and opponent had doubled up on the 6th triangle.

Subject: bad PRNG
Just happened: In one game of triple dice poker i roll 34466. i reroll 344 and have 24466. I reroll 244 and get 34466 I enter and submit, going to the next game of the same type, and the dice are: 34466.

This is only a single case, but it is one example of many I have observed yet. More often than should happen by chance, the dice in a dice poker variant stay the same or almost the same when rerolled.

I only trust a PRNG when I have implemented it myself (but then not absolutely) or when it is based on a cryptographic method and checkable, as I have previously described here.

Things that aren't OK for https:
1) The images are in http://i.brainking.com - already mentioned in the news
2) The "logout" link leads to http://brainking.com regardless of which protocol is used
3) brainking.info - is this part of the site?
4) user input such as this post may contain http: references. Is this permitted?

Anyone else notice anything?
