Emne: Re: RE:GETTING SICK OF PLAYING
computeropponen: Sorry to hear this. But on this site we basically play correspondence chess, not OTB. So it is perfectly normally to set up the position on your board at home and play through a few ideas before you decide on a move. It is also normal to look at the board and decide you have no idea how to proceed, so wait and see if you feel more inspired the next day. At least for me anyway!

Emne: Re: REVIWING YOUR OLD GAME
computeropponen: Thanks. Maybe this game against mangue, because he seems to be a better player than me: Chinese Chess (Beren the 32nd vs. mangue)

Emne: Re: re: my games vs the top 3 players
computeropponen: Any particular reason why you are using this discussion board to talk so much about yourself, and not the game and rules of Xiangqi? How about finding one of my old games and reviewing it for me? I am not that good, but willing to learn - just a suggestion.

Emne: nice chariot
Just finished this game. It has a nice chariot sacrifice to finish:
Chinese Chess (Waterfall vs. Beren the 32nd)
But were my tactics good throughout?

Emne: 50 move rule?
I see mention of a 50 move rule below (by Chicago Bulls). However, I don't see it mentioned in the BK rules. Is there such a rule in chinese chess, and if so under what conditions does it apply?

Emne: Re: Enough to win?
Matarilevich: Thanks. That sounds pretty definite. But I guess having an extra soldier, elephant or advisor is not normally enough to get a win is it?

Emne: Enough to win?
Can anyone share their experience on this question? If I win a chariot for a horse or cannon early on in the game, should this normally be enough to win the game (if I play well) or does my opponent often have chances to draw (if he plays well)?

Emne: Re: bigger pieces available now
Fwiffo: Were these traditional characters? I prefer them to simplified. If so, yes I'd still like to play with these.

Marfitalu: Thanks. I did not know that before.
Fwiffo: Ok, thanks anyway.

Emne: Re: Xiangqi pieces
Fwiffo: Nice character set, thanks. I would like to use them for games, but bigger might be better. If Fencer would be happy to give us the option of a bigger board, like in western chess, then do you have some bigger pieces available?
Also, some colour options would be good.
