Oh you really should, Merrily! :oDDD Phil Rickman is a great author, he was recommended to me and I would recommend him to everyone I know. I will definitely be buying more of his books, they're 'unputdownable'!

Collins English Dictionary: 'unputdownable. adj. (of a book, esp. a novel) so gripping as to be read right through at one sitting.'

Oxford Concise Dictionary: 'unputdownable. a. (colloq.) (Of book) so engrossing that reader cannot put it down.'

ROFL!! Hardly, MysTery! Its just one of those words that you hear once and it sticks because its so appropriate, and such a crazy word! I read a lot of books that are unputdownable! LOL!

It sort of flows off the tongue doesn't it? It's so descriptive!

24. December 2003, 14:39:27
bumble
I didn't realise it was in the dictionary, but it's certainly a word I'm lucky enough to be able to say that I've used a lot to describe books that I've read.
It's quite a common 'word' - in the UK anyway.
